Giving to Unity Church
“Where grace happens, generosity happens” – Max Lucado
Unity Church is almost entirely dependent on the voluntary contributions of its members. As you determine what to give remember that whether it is through the weekly worship of God, the many activities that take place during the week or benevolence to those around us, your generosity enables Unity Church to continue its mission of bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to all.

Most of us would like a straight forward answer to the question, “How much should I give?” Unfortunately scripture doesn’t give us an exact answer.
In the Old Testament the Israelites were commanded that a tithe, or 10%, is to be set aside as first fruits for the Lord. Leviticus 27:30 says that “a tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” Deuteronomy 26:10 says, “I bring the first fruits of the soil that you, O Lord, have given me.”
In the New Testament, no specific figures are given. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “Each one must give what he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or out of compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” This doesn’t excuse us from giving less, in fact, God’s Old Testament laws are amplified in the New Testament. Jesus illustrates this in the parable of the widow’s mite when He says that “she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford- she gave her all.”
We believe every aspect of our lives is God’s, it’s all His, after all He gave it all for us on the cross and all of our lives should reflect what He has done for us.
