Read on to learn what to expect at Unity Church.
What time is the Sunday worship service?
The Sunday morning service begins at 10:00 am. Greeters and ushers are available to help you find your way around. If you have any questions about the service or the location of the nursery, they will be able to help you.
Where do I park?
Parking is available either in the church parking lot or on the surrounding streets.
Are there nursery services available?
Nursery is available during the worship service. It provides care for infants and toddlers. It offers a safe and fun atmosphere while the parents/guardians spend time in worship. The nursery is staffed by 1 or 2 adults. Each parent/guardian is required to put a name tag on their child and sign in their child on the register. Any special needs can also be placed in the register and told to the attending adult. At the end of the service only the parent/guardian will be allowed to pick up their child. The nursery is located just to the left as you enter the church through the rear parking lot door.
Are there handicap facilities available? Is there a way to participate in the service if someone cannot get out of a wheelchair?
There are stair lifts at the rear of the church for those people who cannot climb stairs. The stair lift can take you upstairs to the sanctuary or downstairs to the basement. There is also a closed circuit TV available for those people who cannot attend the service in the sanctuary. This room is accessible through the rear parking lot door and no steps are needed to get to this room.
Is there Sunday School or Bible Class?
Sunday School for children in grades K-6 meets from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm in the TV room in the church annex. An Adult Bible Class meets at the same time in the council room (next to the kitchen) in the church fellowship hall.
What should I wear?
We have no dress code. You should dress how you feel comfortable.
What should I expect during the service?
A worship service is a meeting between God and His people. There is singing that you can participate in. The words to the songs will be on the screen. There will be a time when we greet each other. Feel free to get out of your seat and introduce yourself to those around you. There are Bibles in the benches to use when we read from them. An offering is collected during the service. It is part of our response to God for his goodness to us. Please don’t feel obligated or pressured to give. You are our guest. The service usually lasts between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes
What is expected of me during the service?
Walking into a strange place for the first time can be intimidating. We want you to know that you are welcome and among friends and the God we serve welcomes you too. Jesus himself called his house a sanctuary for all people. There are no outsiders here, regardless of age, race, income or education. We hope it will be possible for you to participate fully. As you worship with us, you will not be embarrassed, tricked into something unexpected, or made to feel you do not belong. Worship is an atmosphere to encounter God and matters a great deal to us. We hope it will to you as well!
