What is Cadets?   It’s a scouting program for boys in grades  1- 8 that meets the first, third and fifth Monday night of the month in the church basement from 7-8:30 pm.

What happens at a Cadet meeting?  Our night begins with a short Bible lesson where we discover what God’s word  says about the things we do every day.  Next, comes activity time where the boys either work on a merit badge from the Cadet Guidebook or work on a craft.  After that the meeting usually ends with a short game time before calling it a night and heading home.

In addition to the regular meetings there are also many outside activities.  Camping, hayrides, participating in pinewood derbies, mini-golfing and competing in winter rallies where we compete against other Cadet clubs and show the skills we’ve learned.  There have also been trips to Gettysburg PA to tour Civil War sites, to Massachusetts to sleep on battleships and to Strasburg, Pennsylvania to ride old steam trains.  These are only some examples of our past activities.

Cadets is a fun, safe and supervised program for boys to participate in.   It’s also practically cost free.  Some of the activities do have a small cost associated with them but fees are kept to a minimum and supplemented as much as possible by profits from our annual Christmas wreath sale fundraiser.
